Maria comes to the University of Maryland, College Park, from sunny Southern California. She received her bachelor’s and Master’s in English from UC Riverside and California State University, Los Angeles, respectively. However, her sense of pedagogy and learning comes from her elementary and secondary education in Argentina and her experience as a Community College student in California. Maria is interested in how queer diasporic subjectivity is formed in communities throughout North America. Her background is in performance, queer theory, critical race theory, and affect. She is very excited about the opportunity to work with the faculty and students at the university. She is always happy to talk about research, pedagogy, gardening, and her pets and yours.
