As a McNair scholar, Michelé constructed a project which focused on Women in French Popular Music. This work looked at the ways in which women artists have agency in controlling how their images are constructed within the pop music genre. Her current research interests lie in the racialized and gendered dimensions within the production and performance of masculinity.

Research interests:

Michelé’s areas of interest include, but are not limited to: masculinity, constructions of motherhood, the politics of the body, queer theory, and racial identities.
