Lidia Garcia Berrelleza
Graduate Assistant II, The Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
Lidia is a scholar-activist, proud Immigrant and Midwestern. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a joint BA in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and Public Management, Leadership, and Policy alongside a Minor in Latino/a/x Studies.
With research interests in critical race studies, transnational feminism, state and legal violence, and feminist epistemologies and methodologies, her work centers on undocumented peoples' experiences in the US. Building on both prior research and extensive
organizing experience, her doctoral work will examine the complexities and nuances of state-sanctioned violence against illegalized populations in the United States.
Outside the classroom Lidia is a certified cat lady, engages in an immigrant woman book club, biking, traveling on a questionable budget and finding the tastiest Thai Ice Tea.
