Stewart Williams, Graduate Assistant

Stewart Williams is a second year Masters in Applied Anthropology and Masters in Historic Preservation dual student with the Museum Studies certificate, from Greensboro, North Carolina. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology from UNC Greensboro. Her research interests include decolonization of museums, with a focus on interpreting and displaying artifacts within their own cultural context instead of simply in regards to the majority and diversifying the historical record in accurate and meaningful ways, and expanding public outreach and community engagement with a bottom up approach to historical research. She has done field work in Greece with a project focusing on Bronze Age home technology and has volunteered at local history museums and public outreach events.
