University of Maryland Women's Studies Ph.D. Barbara Boswell has been awarded one of the 65 American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) New Faculty Fellowships. Boswell, with support from the ACLS New Faculty Fellows program, will take a two-year position in English and Institute for African-American Studies at University of Virginia. She will teach three semester-length courses each year and receive an annual stipend, research and travel allowance, health insurance, and a one-time moving allowance. Boswell is awaiting her fellowship appointment.

Jesse Oak Taylor, an ACLS New Faculty Fellow, has been appointed in English here, at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is an English Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison
