Dual Degree student Jackie Liu honored with the ARHU Dean's Senior Scholar Award!

Please join us in congratulating Jackie Liu on her achievement receiving the ARHU Dean's Senior Scholar Award! The College of Arts and Humanities created the Dean's Senior Scholar Awards to recognize and encourage academic excellence in undergraduate scholarship by students majoring in the College. 

Jackie is a senior double degree in Physiology & Neurobiology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Jackie has a passion for the intersections of science, medicine, and sturcutral inequities, and hopes to one day be a clinician-researcher and physician-advocate. She is currently writing an Honors Thesis in WGSS on fatphobia in the medical field under advisor Dr. Sydney Lewis.

Beyond classwork, Jackie also serves on the Asian American Student Union, championing political activist efforts for the UMD AAPI community. Jackie also conducts clinical research under the UMD SPH and also works as a medical assistant. In her free time, Jackie enjoys baking and cuddling with her cats.
