WGSS Graduate L. Ayu Saraswati's ('07) "Scarred" named one of Library Journal's Top Books of 2023

L. Ayu Saraswati (Ph.D '07)'s most recent book Scarred: A Feminist Journey Through Pain has been named one of Library Journal's Best Social Sciences Books of 2023. In her book, Dr. Saraswati explores pain from a feminist prospective, weaving scholarly analysis with memoir as she draws on her own experiences to "reframe pain as a 'transnational feminist object'."
